New study finds pitfalls and opportunities in Canadian volunteer landscape

New research shares practical information for use by volunteer organizations to attract and retain skilled, dedicated volunteers among four specific demographic groups: youth, families, boomers and employer-supported volunteers.

We're developing new volunteering tools designed for the four demographics. Check this page to access them as we continue to roll out new tools throughout 2011.

Bridging the Gap Report

Digital Volunteering Tools

The VQ is a volunteer quiz that will help people discover their volunteer type and match them to volunteer opportunities and organizations that suit their personalities, interests, skills and talents.

Volunteer Canada, in collaboration with Manulife Financial and q media solutions, developed the Matching Tool, which allows volunteers and volunteer-seeking organizations to create highly customized profiles and tailored searches in order to effectively bridge the gap between what volunteers are looking for in a meaningful volunteer experience and what organizations need in terms of volunteer assistance.

This document contains links to tools, examples, and suggested practices that help bridge the gap between what today's volunteers look for in their volunteer experiences, and what organizations currently offer.
