TORONTO, ON - January 25, 2012 - The Institute for Canadian Citizenship (ICC), Manulife Financial and Volunteer Canada have partnered to create an easy-to-use online resource centre for new Canadian citizens that connects them to volunteer resources across the country.
Volunteer Canada is pleased to announce a brand new suite of membership benefits in development for 2012, to be offered in addition to our existing comprehensive benefits package. Stay tuned to future eVOLution mailings as we continue to roll out new exclusive offers throughout 2012.
The National Volunteer Week website launched today with new tools and resources to support voluntary organizations and volunteer centres in their efforts to recognize Canada’s volunteers. The website is at a new URL this year; to visit the new site, go to http://nationalvolunteerweek.ca/.
This year’s NVW site features new volunteer recognition tools, which will be available on an ongoing basis throughout January and February. Bonn, 5 December 2011 (United Nations Volunteers) - The first United Nations State of the World’s Volunteerism Report (SWVR) published today calls for making volunteer action an integral part of the new development consensus.
The report was launched at the United Nations General Assembly in New York, United States, and many countries around the world, coinciding with the marking of International Volunteer Day and the closure of the tenth anniversary of the International Year of Volunteers.
