Doug Appleby
Doug Appleby has been with UPS Canada for 10 years and is responsible for Employee Relations, Community Relations and Diversity programs. As Community Relations Manager, Doug is responsible for philanthropic, fundraising and volunteer programs for the country. He is also an active member of the Volunteer Canada Corporate Council on Volunteering, representing UPS.
Doug has an extensive background in retailing and the transportation industry. Individually, he has supported minor sports, cultural events and seniors as well as fundraising campaigns for major NGOs. Corporately he is responsible for leading UPS Canada’s support of JDRF and United Way, driving their robust volunteer program, managing the community investment program and building on UPS’s legacy as a caring and responsible corporate citizen.
Doug served 5 years on the campaign cabinet for United Way of Peel Region. He was a guest speaker at the Imagine Canada/Johns Hopkins University International Symposium Learning from the World: Canada's Charitable and Nonprofit Sector Through a Global Lens and participated in the Volunteer Zone Bénévoles – International Dialogue 2005.
