Cathy Taylor

Cathy Taylor is the founding Executive Director of the Volunteer Centre of Guelph/Wellington.

She also represents the interests of many volunteer centres by sitting on the Ontario Volunteer Centre Network Steering Committee and by leading a provincial project, “Building Stronger Organizations through volunteer centre services and engaging new Canadians as volunteers”. Beyond her work with volunteer centres, she is also an active volunteer, serving on the Board of Directors for Wyndham House (a residential program for at-risk youth) in a variety of capacities, including (past) President; acting as co-Chair of the Memorial Cup Volunteer and as a Committee Member of the Ontario Winter Games Volunteer Committee. She is currently a Board Member with the YWCA-YWCA.

Cathy has an Honours Degree in Political Studies and History from Queen’s University. She is a certified trainer with the United Way of Canada’s Volunteer Leadership Development Program and has facilitated many discussions and planning sessions with non-profit organizations. She has recently graduated from York University-Maytree Foundation 2007 Executive Directors’ Institute.

Cathy lives in Eden Mills, a small village outside of Guelph, and has three young children.
